“A girl should be two things: who and what she wants” Coco Chanel
This shows how female empowerment is a must, and women should feel empowered more and more to do what they wish to accomplish in their life related to career, education, and any other things.
The development and empowerment of women is essential because they are the foundation of our societies. Women should feel empowered to achieve what they want in their personal live, education and careers and they should be recognized for their true worth. This is what we mean by feminism. However, Feminism is loaded with a lot of stereotypes. The major one is the idea that feminism is seeking women’s rule over men while it is about achieving social, economic and political equality of the sexes. No human being is superior to another.
Women at work
For the same job, the same level of experience and qualifications, what could explain why many women earn less than their male colleagues? Each gender has characteristics that are sometimes complementary and are assets in the work world. Some studies have even shown that women become stronger leaders and take on the extra work that comes with it. Compared to men at the same level, women do more to support their teams and advance diversity, equity and inclusion efforts. They are also more altruistic than men.
Women in Politics
Around the world, women are conspicuous by their absence from government decision-making positions. Yet women's participation in politics makes a difference. They bring different skills and perspectives that help shape a new political order. But it is clear that in some places, every effort is made to limit their presence. One of the latest examples is the rejection by the National Assembly of a West African country of pro-gender equality texts. These texts would have allowed, among other things, the assignment of 35% of legislative seats to women or the attribution of 35% of leadership positions in political parties to women.
The mental load
Thinking about everything, all the time, to ensure the proper functioning of the home and family life is called the "mental load". And this burden weighs more heavily on women in heterosexual relationships than on their spouses. Indeed, they take charge of a large part of the domestic and parental tasks in the home.
So men, if you're reading this, don't wait for your partner to ask you for help. This is your home too. So look around and you will certainly find something to do.
Women are incredibly strong and resilient, but they don't need to be superheroes by skillfully juggling their life as a woman, their work and domestic and/or parenting duties while maintaining a social life.
They need to have time for themselves, to recharge, to breathe and to pursue their dreams whatever they may be.
Our message to you ladies is: Think positive, stand up for yourself, say no to people, and reinforce your beliefs. The main goal is to not forget yourself, to choose to be a warrior and not a victim.
